BETTER BLOCK MOBILITY PARKLET

Medium: CNC milled plywood
Year Completed: 2018
Dimensions: 8' x 24' x 8' tall

The Mobility Parklet was designed for Better Block's "Let's Talk About Bike Share" panel discussion on the issue of bike share in Dallas, TX. With one of the main criticisms of bike share being the lack of proper infrastructure to support the number of bikes in pedestrian right of ways, the mobility parklet offers one solution for bike parking.  In addition, the concept of a "parklet" revolves around the idea of converting parking spaces into useable public space, promoting biking as an alternate mobility option and creating additional amenity for pedestrians .
